I'm in Pain!

What is Pain?

Definition: Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience, unique to every individual, associated with actual or potential tissue damage.

When pain is present, it can shape your mood, personality, behaviors, beliefs, choices and aspirations. However, the protective function of pain can act as a double-edged sword. If the alarm system is left unchecked, false signals of danger can impede all aspects of your life. The pain system your body uses was evolutionarily designed for survival and this most primitive safety guide doesn’t have much capacity for conscious judgment.
